Meridia drug interaction
Meridia can interact with Cimetidine, erythromycin and ketoconazole
Meridia and alcohol combined can produce an interaction.
Do not combine monoamine oxidase inhibitor.
This combination could lead to serotonin syndrome.
Meridia should not be combined with other weight loss pills.
Meridia should not be taken with triptan-type and dihydroergotamine, antidepressants
Decongestants cough medications, lithium or l-tryptophan. Drugs,
Stimulants found in some over the counter drugs such as decongestants, cough or cold, or allergy drugs-can raise blood pressure or heart rate when used with Meridia.
Meridia missed Dose
If you are taking Meridia and miss a dose it would be best to skip and go to the next dose. Do not take a double dose.
Seniors who are using Meridia
Seniors should receive lowest possible dose if they have kidney or liver problems.
Meridia is a fairly new drug so there is not enough information on how they are tolerated when taken for extended period of time. The longest studies have lasted only two years.
